Triantafyllidis research group in 6th EuGSC, 3-6 September 2023, Salerno, Italy!

Happy to share Triantafyllidis’ research group participation in 6th EuChems Conference which took place on 3-6thSeptember 2023, in Salerno, Italy. Two post-doctoral researchers and two PhD students of our lab participated with oral and poster presentations, disseminating results from our European and nationally funded projects.

Dr. Antigoni Margellou gave an oral presentation about “In-situ catalytic upgrading of plastic waste fast pyrolysis oil” , disseminating results from the European Union-funded ELECTRO project. She also had a poster presentation entitled “Layered Double Hydroxide derived mixed-oxides as catalysts in CO2 Hydrogenation to light olefins”, under the framework of the Nano-olefins project.

Dr. Dimitrios Giannakoudakis gave a talk about “Lignin-derived chemicals via selective cleavage of β-Ο-4 linkages by novel green nano-polymeric graphitic carbon nitride nanoparticles”, in the framework of COST Action LignoCOST (CA 17128) supported by COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology, www.cost.eu). Also he had a poster presentation entitled “Electromagnetic treatment of water as a process intensification” tool for sustainable photocatalytic applications: biomass valorization and hydrogen production”, in the framework of Φ water project.

Eleni Psochia, PhD student, presented her work entitled “Nanocellulose-reinforced particle boards with nanoimprinted surfaces for enhanced hydrophobicity”, disseminating results from the CELL4GLUE project and her PhD thesis.

Kyriazis Rekos, PhD student, had a poster presentation entitled “Hydrogenation/hydrogenolysis of glucose-rich streams towards sugar alcohols and their use in the production of UV-curable polyester resins”, disseminating results from BIOMAC, a European Union-funded project, and his PhD thesis.
